On May 15, 2025, a total of 33 clients from Barangay Baruyan, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, took part in a skills training on fish processing. The training focused on producing value-added fish products such as sardines, fish tocino, fish longganisa, and fish sisig. This is designed to provide participants with hands-on experience, and the session equipped them with practical techniques for turning locally sourced fish into market-ready goods.
Led by TESDA-accredited trainer Mr. Crisostomo Mateo, the workshop emphasized active participation, guiding attendees through each stage of the process, from preparation all the way to packaging.
This initiative forms part of Saklaw Foundation Inc.’s ongoing commitment to community development through sustainable livelihood programs, empowering individuals with the skills needed to pursue income-generating opportunities.
