Survival and Recovery Assistance Program - Oil Spill

December 5 & 6, 2023 - Pola, Oriental Mindoro

The devastating impact of the oil spill caused by the sunken vessel greatly affected the coastal community and the livelihood of many individuals in Oriental Mindoro.

As a response, a collaborative effort was raised by the Local Government Unit of Pola, the Fisheries Management Office, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), the Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Credit Policy Council (DA-ACPC), and Saklaw Foundation Inc. Together, they worked to identify and assess individuals and families profoundly impacted by this disaster.

Saklaw Foundation Inc. has provided loans to a total of 494 qualified borrowers from Pola, Oriental Mindoro, with each recipient receiving Php 20,000. The loans have zero interest and they are given three years to pay.

This joint venture fosters the recovery of strength and hope for the affected families and the community.
